About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager - Engineering, you will lead the development of advanced hardware solutions from concept through to delivery. You will take complex ideas and transform them into high-precision instruments that meet critical project requirements. This role combines creative problem-solving, technical excellence, and hands-on involvement, including supervising manufacture, assembly, and commissioning.
What You'll Be Doing
* Leading the development of innovative concepts and detailed designs for cutting-edge scientific equipment.
* Creating testing and commissioning plans to ensure smooth, safe, and reliable integration of new systems.
* Solving complex technical challenges and minimising project risks through research and engineering insight.
* Acting as the key technical contributor within multidisciplinary project teams.
* Supporting operational requirements with upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.
* Mentoring and guiding junior engineers to maintain high standards of delivery.
What You Bring
* Degree or higher in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
* Proven experience leading complex engineering projects and delivering high-quality designs.
* Ability to quickly grasp advanced concepts and translate them into practical solutions.
* Proficient in 3D CAD and FEA software.
* Skilled at communicating and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
* Passionate about science, research, and creating technologies that make a real-world impact.
* Registered Professional Engineer (VBA).
