The key duties of the position include The Role The Manager, Visits and Events, provides whole-of-centre administrative and logistic support to ACMC's program of civil-military-police engagement activities. In particular, the position will: Work with ACMC project leads to deliver complex activities, such as training, workshops, visit programs and conferences, Manage accommodation, travel and venue arrangements for external events; Comply with relevant Defence policies and procedures in procurement, administration and event logistics; Comply with and, where required, develop Standard Operating Procedures for facilitating ACMC activities; Deliver in-person administrative and event logistic support, as required, to activities where they occur (domestically and overseas). The position reports to the Assistant Director, Training. About our Team The Australian Civil-Military Centre's (ACMC) mission is to strengthen Australian and regional civil-military-police capacity and capability to respond more effectively to crises and contingencies. In implementing its mission, the ACMC promotes better practice civil-military-police coordination and interactions to achieve operational objectives. ACMC is a small dynamic organisation with approximately 25 staff drawn from permanent staff from the Department of Defence augmented by secondees from Australian Government departments and agencies, the New Zealand Government, and the Australian Council for International Development (Australia's peak non-government sector body). The Partnership and Preparedness Directorate mobilises and delivers ACMC's civil-military-police knowledge and content. By developing and maintaining networks throughout relevant government, non-government and regional channels, the team enables ACMC to design and deliver knowledge and content in line with its overarching ambition to strengthen Australian and regional civil-military-police capacity and capability to respond more effectively to crises and contingencies. Our Ideal Candidate To be successful in this role, the applicant will be able to demonstrate familiarity of, and experience in, Defence administrative and event logistic policies, including relevant procurement, travel and gifts and benefits procedures. The applicant will be required to work in a high-tempo environment that may occasionally require out-of-hours duties and activities. The applicant will be able to show considerable initiative, be self-motivated, resilient and able to work with limited direction. The successful applicant will also need to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, noting that ACMC activities can evolve and change direction due to broader contextual circumstances. The ability to work across unit areas, agencies and with regional partners is also an essential component to this role. The role is likely to require some domestic and international travel.
