A thriving and reputable builder delivering projects across the high-end residential, multi-residential, and government/social housing sectors throughout Melbourne, seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to join their team.
The Opportunity
As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing both customer relationships and project delivery (including Construction Administration) through the relevant stages to ensure a smooth handover to the Construction team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pre-Construction: Coordinate completion of Sales Site Analysis & council meetings.
2. Handle RFIs.
3. Organise quotes.
4. Manage Town Planning Submissions.
5. Oversee Building Permit lodgements.
6. Establish site for construction.
7. Manage costs.
8. Ensure quality assurance.
9. Manage customer relations.
10. Ensure compliance with all WH&S standards.
The Ideal Candidate
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in Project Management within the domestic custom-building industry or similar.
* End-to-end town planning experience is essential.
* Experience building homes or site management is preferred.
* Proven project management skills.
* Thorough understanding of the construction process, structural complexity, techniques, terminology, and costs, with the ability to communicate these effectively to stakeholders.
* Strong understanding of workflow stages in the custom home building industry.
* Ability to read architectural/engineering plans, identify issues, and collaborate to resolve them.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to negotiate effectively for win/win outcomes.
* Building/Construction Management qualification (minimum Cert IV) and/or trade qualification.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Project (preferred).
* Working knowledge of Nexvia or similar software (preferred).
