Bechtel is providing a wide variety project and contract management services, crossing all disciplines, to customers in Western Australia to support exciting capital works programmes, including in aviation, defence and energy infrastructure. We are looking for people to join us in a long-term relationship to deliver these services in and around Perth where we are working within integrated teams with our customers and to help build Bechtel's capabilities for even greater opportunities in the future.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team and interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate the engineering technical aspects for complex projects. You will participate in project planning, proposal review, and will own the engineering elements of capital estimates. Your technical guidance and recommendations will ensure engineering aspects meet project requirements and remain within scope and budget.

Major Responsibilities:

* Manages the D&C contractor in preparing compliant, constructible and value engineered designs for the assigned scope/package.
* Coordinate and manage the interfaces between the Design work packages developed by 3rd Party architectural or engineering consultants and/or design firms.
* Assist the Principal Design Manager with the timely delivery of the Design work packages developed by 3rd Party architectural or engineering consultants and/or design firms.
* Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and/or difficult coordination requirements.
* Has a working knowledge of Autodesk design suite (Revit, AutoCAD) and is proficient in model viewing software, common data environment (e.g. Autodesk Navisworks, BIM360, ACC) to navigate the 3D model for review, coordination, and design development decisions. Leads formal and informal design reviews.
* Ability to coordinate and direct efforts of technical staff to develop high-quality deliverables.
* Participates and supports the Technical Risk Assessments (e.g. HAZIDs, HAZOPs) are comprehensive and complete, safety practices and procedures are implemented, and engineering design and corresponding documentation are in compliance with the associated projects Quality Assurance plan and procedures.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

* Demonstrated successful experience with engineering/design of commercial and general aviation airport improvements, including pavement, drainage, utility, and landside/site projects.
* Well developed communication skills and a skilled problem solver.
