Our CMJV mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay thatproduce premium low-volatile pulverized coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.About the role:Peabody are currently seeking a Mining Manager to join our opencut mine based at Coppabella Moorvale Mine Complex (CMJV).In this high-profile role, you will work closely with theOperations Managerto lead the Mining operations team acrosstwo open cut mine sitesin achieving established business and production targets in a safe, efficient and effective manner.Key Responsibilities:Champion a proactive safety culture by ensuring compliance with the site’s Safety and Health Management Plan, leading safety initiatives, and fostering open communication across all teams.Lead the development, execution, and tracking of the annual Mining Business Plan, driving continuous improvement and embedding best practice operational standards.Provide strategic oversight of open cut operations, including short, medium, and long term mine planning, with a focus on optimisation, cost efficiency, and sustainable production outcomes.Oversee the integration and scheduling of people and equipment to align with mine planning objectives, ensuring efficient and reliable delivery of operational targets.Identify operational risks and cost variances early, escalate critical issues with solutions, and implement strategies to meet or exceed physical and financial performance targets.Manage departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with unit cost objectives and effective utilisation of site assets to meet production and maintenance goals.Lead contractor performance within the Mining department, ensuring accountability, safety, and alignment with operational objectives.The lifestyle:This position is offered on a 9-day fortnight roster (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) and supports a DIDO or FIFO lifestyle. For those seeking a more permanent base, the company is also open to providingrelocation support to the Moranbah or Mackay region.About you:You are an operationally focused leader with a strong background in open cut coal mining, known for delivering results through high performing teams and driving continuous improvement on site. With a wealth of experience in open cut coal mining operations, you have developed a reputation for being hands-on, technically competent, and commercially astute.You bring a blend of operational and technical services experience, allowing you to understand the full mining value chain and make confident, data-informed decisions.
