Great Team and Culture

High Growth Business

This organisation is a high-performing, award-winning renovation company based in Melbourne, with over 22 years of industry experience. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a results-oriented professional who is motivated by achievement and driven to set new standards of excellence. This is an opportunity for someone who is focused on success and is ready to lead.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing premium renovation projects from start to finish. You will lead teams of skilled tradespeople, coordinate schedules, solve problems proactively, and ensure that every project is delivered on time, on specification, and within budget. Your approach to client service will be second to none; responsive, proactive, and dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes. This client-centric mindset not only earns referrals and five-star reviews but also strengthens the reputation of the business.

Commercial acumen is essential and you will be expected to treat each project as your own business, identifying and raising fair variations where appropriate, challenging trade claims, negotiating assertively, and protecting project margins at every stage. Your decisions should always serve the profitability and integrity of the company, not just immediate convenience.

Your deep trade knowledge will set you apart. With significant hands-on experience, combined with experience in running multiple projects at once, you will be able to anticipate challenges and address issues before they escalate. Construction work is not just theoretical to you; it is a practical discipline that you have mastered through years of direct involvement.

Effective scheduling is a core requirement, and you must be able to apply critical path analysis to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that schedules are both concise and flexible enough to accommodate the realities of renovation work. Your teams should be well-prepared, knowing exactly when to arrive, what to bring, and how long each task will take. You will earn the trust and commitment of your trades through strong, reliable leadership.

You will be expected to drive outcomes, even in challenging circumstances. This includes motivating trades to go above and beyond when necessary, running meetings with clear objectives, and always maintaining a clear understanding of your position in negotiations and decision-making.

You understand that leadership is about more than a title, you will build your team around key personnel, delegate intelligently, and lead by example. Your ability to inspire respect and loyalty comes from your professionalism and competence.

You bring a work ethic that is always about getting the job done and to the highest standard. You are someone who is willing to put in early mornings, late nights, and weekends when required. You understand that exceptional rewards are achieved through exceptional effort.

Strong judgment is crucial and you will know when to stand firm and when to compromise, always keeping the broader objectives in mind. You can be both respectful and assertive, managing difficult conversations with professionalism.

Our client is a systems-driven business and expect you to adhere to their established processes, however at the same time, you should bring a mindset for continuous improvement, identifying inefficiencies and helping to refine operations.

Above all, we are looking for someone with strong character, humble, fair, and principled. You care for those who perform and address underperformance directly, fostering a professional and respectful culture.

In return, you will receive an attractive base salary, superannuation, a company vehicle, and a performance bonus of 10-20%. You will be joining a team committed to growth, with ambitious plans to double in size over the next five years, and a culture that values achievement and supports its high performers.

To be considered, you must have extensive experience in renovation or construction, a project management qualification or equivalent practical expertise, strong organisational and communication skills, and permanent residency in Australia.

This position is not suitable for those seeking traditional business hours, requiring close supervision, or uncomfortable with challenging conversations. It is designed for ambitious, commercially minded professionals ready to be recognized and rewarded for their contribution.

PLEASE NOTE You must be an Australian permanent resident living in Australia to be considered for this opportunity.

To apply for this opportunity, please forward your resume to or you can call Virginia Bacon on 0411 757 486 for a confidential discussion.
