About The Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced solicitor to join our Employment team as a Senior Associate or Special Counsel. This position combines high-level advisory work with significant contentious matters, spanning the full employment lifecycle.
Key Tasks
Undertake legal work and prepare advice for clients in relation to Employment matters, including:
* Executive employment structuring and tailored contractual arrangements.
* Strategic management and enforcement of restraint and post-employment obligations.
* Representation in unfair dismissal and general protections matters under the Fair Work framework.
* Enterprise bargaining strategy and complex industrial negotiations.
* Workplace disputes, conduct issues, and disciplinary risk management.
* Sensitive investigations involving bullying, harassment, and discrimination.
* WHS advisory, governance oversight, and response to critical incidents termination and redundancy.
* Negotiating on behalf of clients and representing them in court / tribunal hearings.
* Keeping up to date with new developments in employment legislation.
* Any other duties as required.
Qualifications And Experience
* Experience, as a Senior Associate or Special Counsel, with employment, industrial relations and workplace safety law.
* Strong research and analysis skills and ability to apply critical thinking.
* Self-sufficient, proactive work ethic, with the ability to manage own files in an efficient manner.
* Demonstrated experience in a highly focused client service environment, ability to build client relationships and gain a sound understanding of their needs.
* Current QLD practicing certificate.
* Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
