About the Role:
The Supported Playgroup Facilitator will establish playgroups that provide opportunities for eligible families to develop parenting skills and confidence in supporting their children's development. The supported playgroups cater to families with children aged birth to 4 years.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop culturally appropriate and accessible playgroup sessions catering to various age groups and diverse backgrounds.
* Provide home visiting support to families within the Small Talk model guidelines.
* Act as a key contact and representative of Monash University in communication with external agencies, supported by people leaders.
* Deliver the playgroup in accordance with current funding guidelines, such as the Small Talk model.
* Organize the establishment of areas for conducting supported playgroups, including sourcing venues, liaising with venue holders, maintaining invoicing and leasing agreements, and auditing and risk assessments of the playgroup venue.
* Develop relationships with families within the supported playgroup program, promote engagement with In-Home Support, and follow up as required.
* Establish connections with local stakeholders and referral sources to develop pathways for disadvantaged families. Effectively engage and support families from diverse backgrounds and encourage participation in playgroup experiences.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will have experience working in a similar position, effective communication skills with people from diverse backgrounds, and a passion for supporting childhood development.
Requirements:
* A relevant qualification in Early Childhood/Education, Social Work/Community Services, or Health (e.g., Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Children's Services, Social Welfare, or Registered Nurse/MCH).
* Completion of Small Talk training.
* Recent experience in developing and facilitating programs and group work for pre-school aged children.
* Working with Children Check.
