Job Title: Freight Transport Operator

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Freight Transport Operator to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for operating company prime movers to transport goods to various locations.
\
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of road rules and regulations, as well as the ability to competently read and write. They will also possess a valid Dangerous Goods Licence and a Building and Construction White Card.
\
In addition to these qualifications, the ideal candidate will have a high level of highway driving skill, professionalism, and courtesy. A strong safety-first attitude and respectful behaviour towards customers and all road users is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safely manoeuvre vehicles into position for efficient loading and unloading operations.
\
2. Load and unload vehicles using appropriate discharge equipment.
\
3. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures during loading, unloading, and transportation activities.
\
4. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and quality checks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
\
5. Accurately estimate and manage load weights to comply with legal load limits and ensure proper weight distribution.
\
6. Secure hatches and valves to prevent loss during transit.
\
7. Verify and complete all relevant loading and delivery documentation.
\
8. Transport goods to various job sites as required.
\
9. Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle, equipment, and goods including regular washing and perform basic servicing when necessary.
\
10. Complete quality checks, daily pre-start checklists, fault reports, and other relevant paperwork accurately and on time.
\
11. Follow the most efficient and approved route to delivery destinations unless otherwise directed by management.
\
12. Climb ladders to access hatches, handle heavy hoses and operate valves for product transfer.
\
13. Correctly store all equipment, including hoses, after use.
\
14. Always wear and correctly use the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to maintain a high standard of safety.
\
15. Comply with work, health, safety and environment regulations and procedures.
\
16. Participate in routine alcohol and drug testing in compliance with company policy.
\
17. Operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
\
18. Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals.
