Exciting opportunity for a remarkable Knowledge Management Senior Lawyer/Senior Associate in our Brisbane office. Join one of Australia's top tier legal firms, collaborate with a successful team, and work with a variety of internal clients to contribute to the overall success of the firm. The role reports to the Knowledge Management team and works closely with the Construction and Employment practices. It involves drafting, maintaining and developing corporate precedents, ensuring a consistent and market-leading approach across the firm, and providing expert advice to the Clayton Utz Construction and Employment teams. As the role evolves with the integration of AI, it offers opportunities to work more efficiently and innovatively using AI tools in legal work.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities in the role include:
* Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and Legal Foundations training
* Lead the knowledge strategy for the construction and employment practices, ensuring key legal developments are monitored and communicated effectively across the teams
* Coordinate CLEs for Construction and Employment practice groups
* Provide practical KM support to fee earners across all levels of the construction and Employment practices
* Design and deliver training programs and internal knowledge sessions
* Collaborate with partners and BD teams on client publications and client-facing knowledge
* Collaborate with the innovation team to improve knowledge development, curation and dissemination including business writing training
Client work
* Oversee and edit client-facing publications
* Develop training sessions for Construction clients
General KM Support
* Respond to knowledge-related queries, including locating templates and drafting precedents
* Provide support to Construction lawyers, including peer reviews of drafting
* Handle queries related to Australian Standards' (AS) licensed materials and oversee the licence renewal process
* Add content to the Knowledge Exchange platforms
National KM and Technology Engagement
* Participate in national meetings
* Evaluate and provide feedback on AI products
* Assist lawyers with AI queries and workflow trials
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Experience in a similar role in a legal or professional services environment
* Ability to coordinate and undertake precedent development and drafting, research activities, and to draft appropriate summaries or commentaries
* Good communication skills. Tact and an ability to deal constructively with competing interests and to prioritise those interests
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to conduct training sessions for practitioners at different levels, including formal presentations, workshops and one-on-one training
* Willingness and ability to work on the integration of AI into the Construction and Employment Practices
