Our client is a global, award‐winning media company who is seeking an entrepreneurial Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its next phase of international growth and diversification across broadcast, streaming and digital platforms. Founded in Australia and now operating across key global markets, the business partners with leading brands, industry bodies and innovators to create premium content that celebrates design, architecture and creativity while reaching millions of viewers worldwide.[1]
About the role
Reporting to the Founders, the CEO has overall responsibility for strategy, management and performance, and will lead the organisation through a significant scale‐up phase in Australia, the US, Europe and other growth markets. You will oversee day‐to‐day operations across pre‐production, production, post‐production, commercial and media/marketing functions, ensuring the team delivers agreed strategic and operational goals. A key focus will be diversifying revenue beyond traditional streams, building upon a recognized and trusted brand.
Core accountabilities
* Leading and developing a high‐performance, creative and commercially focused team culture.
* Driving strategic planning, business plans, budgets, financial performance, risk management and reporting.
* Maximising operational efficiency across the full production lifecycle and back‐of‐house processes, leveraging technology and AI where appropriate.
* Building and deepening strategic relationships with sponsors, industry associations, corporate partners and global and local suppliers.
* Representing the organisation in industry forums, media and stakeholder engagements as a visible and credible ambassador.
Experience and capabilities
You will be a people‐oriented senior executive with proven commercial leadership experience, ideally within media, creative industries, or design‐adjacent sectors. You bring demonstrated success leading multi‐disciplinary teams, growing revenue through both traditional and innovative channels, and fostering strong strategic partnerships.
We are seeking:
* Strong business acumen, including experience with budgets, financial reports and growth strategies.
* Experience working with, or within, founder‐led organisations and navigating their needs and expectations.
* Proven ability to build and lead outcome‐focused teams and embed a culture of professionalism and accountability.
* Highly developed stakeholder engagement, negotiation and public presentation skills, with the gravitas to represent the brand on a global stage.
* Comfort operating in international markets, with a global mindset and strong understanding of the US market particularly valued.
* Appropriate tertiary qualifications in business, finance or a related field will be highly regarded.
