SeaStock is a West Australian owned start-up company committed to developing sustainable marine science solutions by cultivating a macroalgae to produce and extract high value compounds. These solutions or end products can then be utilised in agriculture, food and beverage, cosmetics, and pharma industries worldwide. We partner with businesses seeking sustainably sourced, naturally derived raw materials and now, begin leading innovation in the production and extraction of seaweeds and their natural compounds.
We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Laboratory Technician to join our R&D team. This role requires someone with strong biological & chemical laboratory experience, and the ability to operate and maintain a range of laboratory, filtration and cultivation equipment. The successful applicant will play a key role in maintaining culture systems, equipment, and laboratory facilities to support our research and development programs.
What you'll be doing
* Day to day upkeep and organisation of our biological & chemical laboratory facilities
* Operating and maintaining seawater, reverse osmosis (RO), and deionised (DI) filtration and pump systems.
* Monitoring and maintaining laboratory and culture climates, lighting and aeration systems.
* Supporting the maintenance of seaweed and algae cultures and their support systems.
* Performing laboratory tasks including the use of vacuum filtration systems, dual extraction, column chromatography, centrifuges and dialysis system management
Desirable
* Qualifications in biology, marine science, chemistry or biotechnology
* Familiarity with culture maintenance and biological support systems
* SCUBA certification, free diver, skippers ticket
