Role Description

This role is for a junior Law Clerk who wants a career in conveyancing to join our property team. You will be passionate about your work and possess a flexible attitude with the ability to work well under pressure. You will have a minimum of 2 – 3 years' experience in a Law Clerk or conveyancing role. Law graduates looking for a role to build a legal career should not apply.

This role is primarily for off the plan development work where you will assist in the operation and control of files. You will receive hands-on experience, quality mentoring and access to valuable learning opportunities with a view to managing your own development matters.

Responsibilities

* Exchange contracts and complete data entry.
* Preparation of all relevant documents.
* Receipting and investing deposits.
* Undertake statutory searches and review and advise accordingly.
* Opening and closing files, entering new files into Affinity.
* General file maintenance and attending to day-to-day matters.
* Lodging applications for registration of subdivisions in SPEAR.
* Preparing files for settlement including PEXA, DutiesOnline for bulk settlements including preparation of statement of adjustments.
* Attending to notices of dispositions after settlement; and
* Monitoring payment of invoices and subsequent archiving.

Qualifications

* 2 - 3 years' property and general conveyancing experience.
* A good understanding or experience off the plan transaction requirements and procedures will be very well regarded.
* A good understanding of certificates of titles, title restrictions, covenants, easements and plans of subdivision.
* A high standard of drafting correspondence, advanced skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PEXA, SPEAR and other relevant software programs.
* Knowledge of property law, relevant processes and terminology required for a conveyancing transaction.
* High attention to detail.
* Be able to produce accurate, high-quality work in a timely manner.
