About the role
The Clinical Placement Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that students completing post- graduate professional psychology programs, many being taught online, at the University of New England, (Master of Professional Psychology, Master of Psychology (Clinical), Master of Psychology (Clinical) Advanced Entry, and Doctor of Philosophy (Clinical Psychology) undertake and complete the range of placements needed to meet course accreditation requirements. This includes coordinating, monitoring and reviewing student placements, including external placement experiences, and playing an active role in the postgraduate Clinical and Professional Psychology Programs as part of the broader teaching and professional staff team. The role also involves providing supervision on the Master of Professional Psychology and/or supervision of supervision to adjunct staff engaged to supervise students undertaking the simulated practice placement within the Master of Professional Psychology and external placements in the Master of Psychology (Clinical) and Master of Psychology (Clinical) Advanced Entry.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will hold a postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology and current General Registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, with Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology and eligibility for Board-approved supervisor accreditation. You will bring extensive clinical experience, strong knowledge of evidence-based psychological therapies and contemporary assessment techniques, and demonstrated capability in clinical supervision. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment, and a commitment to professional and ethical practice are essential.

The School of Psychology at UNE is a leading provider of psychology education and training and the university of choice for students who wish to work in rural and regional Australia. We produce aboveworld standard research and provide cutting edge training in psychology science and professional and clinical practice.
UNE offers a number of post-graduate professional psychology programs which are fully accredited with the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council. These courses include the Master of Professional Psychology which provides a pathway to students undertaking a year's internship following a fifth year of training in psychology in order to achieve general registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
The University also offers the Master of Psychology (Clinical), Masters of Psychology (Clinical) Advanced Entry, and PhD (Clinical Psychology) which provide eligibility for entry to the registrar program of the Psychology Board of Australia, leading to Area of Practice endorsement in Clinical Psychology. Graduates from our programs have outstanding employment prospects and many have become senior leaders in the field across Australia and internationally.
The UNE Psychology Clinic (The Clinic) provides clinical experience for students completing the Master of Psychology (Clinical), Masters of Psychology (Clinical) Advanced Entry and PhD (Clinical Psychology) degrees with placements each year. The Clinic has approximately five staff. The Clinic fulfils an important community service by providing high quality mental health services to members of the general public.

This position is a parental leave replacement, and the appointment is subject to the staff member's leave arrangements. Should the staff member on parental leave vary their return-to-work arrangements, this contract may be terminated earlier by giving four weeks' notice.
