About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Sexual Violence Counsellor to support survivors on their healing journey. This role involves delivering trauma-informed counselling, advocacy, and community education to help shift societal norms and empower individuals aged 12 and over.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide life-changing, trauma-informed counselling and support to survivors.
* Conduct risk assessments and safety planning to prioritise wellbeing.
* Advocate for survivor rights through integrated service delivery.
* Facilitate outreach and community education to drive awareness and change.
* Work within a collaborative, feminist-informed team dedicated to ending violence.
About You:
* Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
* Experience in trauma-informed counselling and working with survivors of sexual violence.
* Strong understanding of gender-based violence and intersectional feminism.
* Excellent communication skills, with experience in both individual counselling and group work.
* Current Driver's Licence, Blue Card, and Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
