**ABOUT THE ROLE**
You will foster a caring environment for our mothers and babies, sustain a rewarding environment for all of the staff and provide overall operational direction to the ward. As the leader of the unit, you will promote high-quality clinical care and be an important part of the hospital's leadership team in collaboration with the Director of Nursing.
As a Nurse Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include the following:
- Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family-centred care in a team-focused environment;
- Coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based;
- Providing guidance, mentoring and support to your team;
- Providing operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management;
- Be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources;
- Undertaking direct patient care as required;
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Registered Nurse with experience in paediatrics or midwifery;
- Knowledge of NSQHS/ACHS Standards;
- Proven experience in an ANUM or NUM role;
- Experience in building and leading high-performing teams with a service excellence approach;
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive working relations with a wide range of diverse stakeholders;
- Postgraduate qualification in Management or relevant area of nursing (desirable);
- Demonstrate a good knowledge base in labour management;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care;

**ABOUT THE FACILITY**
The hospital, located in Melbourne, is a private facility that provides a full range of surgical and medical services, including a dedicated mental health unit and a full-service maternity unit, including mother and baby services. The hospital has 5 birthing suites, 16 postnatal beds and a Special Care nursery able to care for babies 32-34 weeks. Childbirth Education via Zoom is offered. Mothers will stay from 4-5 nights, depending upon the type of delivery. 24-hour theatre and paediatric cover and overnight anaesthetic cover.
