We balance original thought with practical action, finding great opportunities for exceptional talent and supporting them every step of the way.When you join Eolas, you get:Professional mentorship from industry veteransOngoing support from our wider team sharing best practices and insightsCareer development opportunitiesThe RoleYou'll be working with the AGO Hydrography Office on two critical objectives:Primary Focus Areas:Consolidate Australia's backlog of bathymetric data into the centralised CARIS Bathy DataBASE (BDB)Generate foundation bathymetric data for Australia's Marine Jurisdiction and international charting responsibilitiesWhat You'll Be DoingData Management & Processing:Execute ETL processes to consolidate bathymetric data holdingsReview and ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across sourcesEdit point clouds and gridded data to maintain quality standardsApply standardised attribution and metadata to datasetsTechnical Analysis:Perform horizontal and vertical datum transformationsGeoreference scanned manuscript datasets for quality controlGenerate gridded outputs following established guidelinesConduct geospatial analysis to identify data collection opportunitiesInnovation & Communication:Develop and apply new analytic methodologies for user requirementsCreate data models optimised for visualisation and analysisDocument procedures and communicate results to diverse stakeholdersSupport statistical and geo-statistical analysis activitiesWhat We're Looking ForEssential Requirements:Active security clearance (NV-1 preferred, Baseline acceptable)3+ years of GIS experience with maritime geospatial background preferredStrong experience in spatial ETL functions and data integrationUnderstanding of relational databases, data modelling, and spatial data typesTechnical Skills:Knowledge of geospatial data best practices (integration, transformation, optimisation)Experience building spatial data models for analysis and visualisationStatistical analysis capabilities including geo-statistical methodsFamiliarity with CARIS software (beneficial but not essential)Professional Qualities:Strong workflow organisation and decision-making within defined parametersExcellent communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholdersAbility to provide specialist support informed by disciplinary knowledgeProactive approach to seeking guidance and sharing informationReady to Advance Australia's Security?This is your opportunity to work on nationally significant maritime data while being supported by a team that genuinely cares about your professional development.
