* About The Role:
The primary responsibility of this role is to work as part of a team in the provision of health promotion within the community. This role provides support to clinical staff in the development of health promotion and community engagement initiatives and the provision of appropriate resources.
* Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Participating in community-wide education on a range of health and lifestyle issues, including addressing chronic diseases, nutrition, sexual health, alcohol, physical activity, and smoking.
2. Team engagement with the local community to identify and understand key health issues and health promotion needs, including presenting information in a culturally appropriate manner.
3. Working with internal staff, community members, and stakeholders to develop and implement health promotion initiatives and community development strategies.
4. Supporting individuals, families, and communities to undertake responsibility for their own healthcare needs using health promotion principles.
5. Undertaking electronic record-keeping of statistics to support performance measures required by funding organisations.
6. Assisting in planning and coordinating events, promoting health calendar events, and health promotion topics using tools like Noongar Radio.
7. Assisting in undertaking research to identify priority areas for health promotion and evaluating existing initiatives to ensure effective services.
8. Complying with all policies and relevant procedures, especially maintaining client confidentiality protocols.
9. Participating in Health Promotion training and professional development, attending team meetings and performance reviews as needed.
* We're Seeking Candidates With:
1. A strong understanding of Aboriginal health service provision and its relevance to health promotion.
2. High-level verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
3. Well-developed interpersonal skills and experience working in a multi-disciplinary, multicultural team environment.
4. A willingness to undertake specialist training in Health Promotion.
5. Computer literacy skills and knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Relations, and Equal Employment Opportunity Legislation.
6. A Current Working with Children Check, Western Australian Drivers Licence, Fully Covid-19 Vaccinated, and National Police Clearance (not older than 6 months).
