Classification: Level 7-8
Salary: starting from $101,232 + superannuation
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Coordinator to provide leadership and specialist engineering expertise within our Infrastructure team. This role plays a critical part in delivering Council's capital and operational projects, ensuring statutory compliance, strong governance, and high-quality customer-focused outcomes for our community.
You will lead complex engineering investigations and design, provide authoritative technical advice, and contribute strategically to asset management, infrastructure planning, and continuous improvement across Council.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you will:
* Provide high-level engineering advice and approvals across Council and to external stakeholders.
* Lead complex engineering investigations, assessments, and design reviews.
* Oversee infrastructure input into Development Applications (DAs) in line with statutory requirements.
* Contribute to and maintain infrastructure strategies, policies, and Asset Management Plans (AMPs).
* Manage and coordinate the Forward Capital Program for Roads and Stormwater.
* Ensure compliance with legislation, WHS, risk management frameworks, and governance requirements.
* Lead, mentor and manage the City Engineering team, fostering a strong customer service culture.
* Monitor operational and capital budgets and ensure projects are delivered within agreed financial parameters.
* Liaise with Councillors, community stakeholders, consultants and contractors.
* Drive continuous improvement and innovation across engineering practices and systems.
