**The Role**

As an Executive Level (EL) 1 ICT Project Finance & Commercial Officer you are accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve very complex contracting work within an integrated workforce. You will work with your in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements. You are accountable to plan, lead and manage a range of human and physical resources and exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve business outcomes. You will be responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships, identify relevant stakeholders' expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes.

**About our Team**
Security and Interoperability Delivery Branch (SIDB) delivers key and critical upgrades, enhancements and new capability within the ICT Security, Cyber Operations, Interoperability and Military Platform Integration.

The System Development Management Office (SDMO), within SIDB, supports capability delivery teams with the standardisation of business controls, polices and processes in areas of procurement, finance and reporting. The team are responsible for end to end delivery of all new procurement, contract change proposals, financial tracking, end of month reports, assistance with purchase orders, budgets and additional estimates. Additionally, the team are responsible for invoice processing which requires verification of deliverables against vendor invoices and the maintenance of travel register budgets and actual cost reconciliation.
- managing and supporting procurement processes and practices to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory frameworks;
- managing and ensuring compliance with Government probity related principles;
- the identification and mitigation of procurement, probity and contract management related risks;
- preparation of procurement, probity and contracting related deliverables for all phases of procurement activities, including ongoing contract management and approving payments; and
- participating in evaluation, negotiation and debriefing processes.

Commercial awareness, highly developed interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a team and knowledge of the Commonwealth procurement policies are also highly valued.
