The Opportunity
We are offering a full-time head hygienist role, structured over 4 days per week. Primarily based at Red Hill Dental Practice, you will also oversee and support our associate clinic, Flinders Dental Practice. You will enjoy a rewarding role that keeps your days engaging by focusing on premium periodontal care, managing the hygiene department, and acting as the central liaison between the hygiene team, management and other clinical providers.
What You'll Do
* Department Leadership: Manage the hygiene department's daily operations and act as the primary liaison between the hygiene team, practice management and other clinical providers.
* Patient Experience: Welcome patients with a warm, professional manner and ensure a high standard of care.
* Clinical Care: Perform thorough dental cleanings, scaling, root planing and comprehensive periodontal charting.
* Patient Education: Educate and motivate patients on optimal, individualized oral hygiene strategies to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
* Clinical Support: Take necessary dental radiographs and maintain strict sterilisation and infection control protocols.
What We're Looking For
* Qualifications: Current AHPRA registration and a recognized degree/diploma in Dental Hygiene or Oral Health.
* Proven Experience: Previous experience as a practicing Dental Hygienist and experience with AirFlow technology is essential.
* Leadership Skills: Previous management experience is highly desirable.
* Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal abilities to effectively manage team dynamics, educate patients and build lasting rapport.
* Clinical Standards: Skilled in periodontal therapies, preventative treatments and sterilisation procedures.
* Team Player: Ability to thrive in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.
