About the role - Immediate Start
We are a NDIS registered provider seeking a dedicated Support Worker Disability Services to join our team. This casual position has availability to travel from the Geelong region, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule. As a Support Worker you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and live independently.
What you'll be doing
* Assisting clients with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation and household tasks.
* Working across various service settings - community access and engagement, behaviour support implementation and respite care
* Accompanying clients to appointments, social activities, and community events to promote their inclusion and participation
* Providing emotional support and encouraging clients to develop life skills and build capacity
* Collaborating with clients, their families, and other allied health professionals to develop and implement individualised support plans
* Maintaining accurate records and documentation to ensure the highest standards of care
* Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements to ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients
What we're looking for
* A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, supporting individuals with disabilities
* A genuine passion for supporting individuals with a disability to live their best lives
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and has the flexibility to travel
* Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities to respond effectively to the diverse needs of clients
* A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to provide personalised and empathetic support
* A current First Aid and CPR certificate and a valid driver's licence
* Has or is studying toward a certificate 4 or higher in the Community Services Industry / Disability Services or Mental Health sector
