It is this blend of technical expertise and the personal relationships we have with our clients that sets us apart from our competitors.About the RoleDue to the continued growth in our work, an opportunity has arisen for an Associate to join our General Insurance Practice in the Brisbane office.The role will see you assisting clients in public liability, general insurance litigation and advice plus professional indemnity and disciplinary work on behalf of a variety of allied health professionals. Prior insurance litigation experience in similar areas of practice will be viewed favourably.You will assist in the defence of civil claims brought against health professionals such as pharmacists, chiropractors, osteopaths and vets, and assist these professionals to respond to regulatory inquiries and disciplinary proceedings. There is also an opportunity to act in the defence of personal injury claims in a range of industry sectors such as childcare, fitness as well as in dust and abuse claims. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical and written advocacy skills.This role will provide the successful candidate with an excellent opportunity to work in a friendly, collegiate team whilst working closely with one of our highly-regarded Principal who has been recognised as a leading Legal Practitioner in Insurance.About youTo be considered for this opportunity, you will need:To be an experienced lawyer with 2 – 4 years post admission experience where you have ideally had exposure to some or all of the types of matters detailed above.Experience in the defence of complex PIPA claims and/or investigations carried out by AHPRA, OHO, and other regulatory bodiesOutstanding technical skills including strong academic performanceExperience working with, and analysing, high volume data sets and evidence.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Firmly established time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities effectively.Teamwork and collaboration skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work independently.Ability to apply compassion and empathy to clients.Joining Meridian Lawyers means joining a practice known for our specialisation and capability.
