Overview
Gastroenterologist - Fractional Specialist. This is a Fractional Specialist role in Gastroenterology focused on outpatient sessions, endoscopy (upper and lower GI), weekday gastroenterology consultation roster, and teaching junior doctors and undergraduates from Monash Rural Health School (Monash University).
The position will oversee the delivery of multidisciplinary Gastroenterology services with a focus on Hepatology. You will provide leadership for developing and implementing standards for compassionate, high-quality clinical care of Gastroenterology patients within, and external to, Bendigo Health.
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient sessions and endoscopy services (upper and lower GI).
- Participate in the weekday gastroenterology consultation roster.
- Teach junior doctors and undergraduates (Monash Rural Health School).
- Lead and oversee standards for compassionate, high-quality clinical care in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
- Undertake case reviews and offer expert clinical advice.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director, Executive Director, and Chief Medical Officer.

The Clinical Operations Division covers acute, cancer and mental health services, including Oncology, Cardiology, Renal, Emergency, Women’s and Children’s, Critical Care, Specialist Clinics, Cancer Clinics and Mental Health Services. The hospital uses advanced technology across Ambulatory and Critical Care, Medical Services, Surgical Services and Women’s and Children’s facilities.
The Cancer Centre offers medical and radiation oncology, specialist nursing, clinical trials, palliative care and a Cancer Wellness Program. The Mental Health Service provides psychiatric care across a large catchment with family-inclusive practice.
