We are currently on the lookout for a Full Time - Duty Manager for our store based in Tamworth. The suitable applicant will have the ability to assist the Store Manager in increasing sales, controlling costs and conserving profit and has the attitude to advance their career by being open to learning and growing within the business. As Duty Manager for Carlo’s IGA, you will be an effective leader with excellent communication and coaching skills and have a proven ability to inspire, develop and drive team performance through mentoring and coaching. Your ability to use your outstanding people management skills in conjunction with your creative merchandising and department presentation skills is an inherent requirement of this role. Experience in a role as a Supermarket Duty Manager, along with a department will be highly regarded. Key duties and responsibilities will include; Monitor stock handling procedures by staff to avoid stock damage and personal injury; Ensure all stock replenishment is completed in a timely manner; Ensure opening or closing procedures are adhered to in the absence of store / assistant managers; Ensure all staff deliver a high level of customer service both at the checkout and departments; Follow up and communicate to Store Manager any customer requests or improvements; Ensure a high level of cash security is observed during these trading periods; Ensure compliance in all departments during trade; Ensure all deadlines set by management are met during supervision of the store. The position requires the following qualities; Excellent customer service skills; People Management skills; Cost control including wages; Shrinkage control; Excellent merchandising skills; Passion for retail and customer service. The Successful applicant should have extensive supermarket experience and possess an understanding of the following duties, customer service, staff management, stock control, merchandising, security, WH&S and experience in dealing with supermarket departments. The full time salaried position will require a person who is punctual, friendly, honest and ready to join our passionate team environment. Training of our systems will be provided. Availability will be required to work to work weekends/early morning/late nights according to business requirements.
