We're looking for someone ready to fast‑track their engineering career—a proactive self‑starter with a can‑do mindset and strong communication skills.

About The Role:

This role works collaboratively and responsively to provide professional engineering advice as part of the development assessment process in relation to stormwater and traffic/transport management. You will provide professional engineering advice to internal stakeholders to facilitate the timely review of applications to occupy and undertake works on public land. You will also need to be able to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and participate in change management processes to deliver high quality, efficient and effective development assessment and engineering advice.

About Our Team:

City Infrastructure manages the strategy, programming, planning and design of civil infrastructure assets, including roads, paths, bridges, water assets, bus stops and public lighting, as well as delivering transport planning services across our City. The portfolio works collaboratively across the organisation to deliver integrated outcomes that maximise value and benefit for our community.

The Detail:

The position is offered as a full‑time, 5‑year fixed‑term contract initially classified at Level 3, with a starting salary of $85,929.52 per annum + Super + Annual Leave Loading.

As a graduate position, your remuneration and career progression are guided by the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers (SAMSO) Award, which provides a clear and accelerated pathway for graduates. Under this Award, you will move through annual salary increments and classification levels more quickly than standard progression. This means your pay, responsibilities, and professional scope will increase predictably and steadily throughout the 5‑year program.

You will also receive structured professional development, regular supervision, and dedicated support to set you up for success as you grow into your role as a professional engineer.
