About the Opportunity
Open to mechanical and structural engineers, or engineers in allied fields, the Team Leader – Engineering Team leads a team of professional officers responsible for supporting incident investigation, providing specialist advice to other divisions of SafeWork SA, conducting compliance audits, the assessment of plant and plant design registrations, and for enforcing compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA) and associated regulations.
The role ensures that engineering decisions support safe work environments and uphold regulatory standards. A major focus of this role will be to lead a team of junior engineers, including team and individual development as well as day‐to‐day performance management of daily operational activities. The Team Leader will also be required to carry a small case load. Successful applicants will need to have demonstrated both technical skills as well as leadership capability.
Responsibilities
* Support incident investigation
* Provide specialist advice to other divisions of SafeWork SA

* Enforce compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA) and associated regulations

Qualifications
* Mechanical or structural engineer, or engineer in an allied field
* Current Australian issued driver's licence (equivalent to minimum class C)
* National Police Certificate clearance satisfactory to the AGD
Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
Some out of hours work may be required.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
