Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 7 of the MBRC EBA4 Certified Agreement
- 9 day fortnight
- 72.5 hour fortnight
- Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
- Location: Strathpine

**About our opportunity**

We are seeing an experienced internal auditor, ideally knowledgeable in the** IT audit field** to join our team

As a **Principal Internal Auditor **in our team you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Internal Audit objectives by providing independent, objective assurance and advisory services designed to add value and enhance Council's internal control environment.

You will have a genuine interest to collaborate with the various stakeholders to enhance our internal control environment.

In addition, you will:

- Undertake complex audits on financial and operational matters often with an IT component - scoping, fieldwork, developing recommendations and obtaining management remediation plans.
- Perform data analysis and provide insights to stakeholders, assist with developing continuous control monitoring solutions and data analytics programs, and follow up on audit actions to ensure that they have been completed.
- Mentor and support staff as required.
- Provide high quality reports to the Chief Executive Officer and Audit Committee on matters of significance.

**About you**

Are you an internal auditor with recent IT experience looking for a new challenge?

We are seeking someone who has high initiative, an innovative approach and excellent stakeholder engagement skills - you will be working across many areas of council and it is crucial you have the ability to build strong relationships with our team and other departments.

We are seeking an experienced auditor with a motivated, proactive workflow style. You will have significant experience in conducting complex audits, reviews and providing value adding advice in respect to governance, internal controls and risk management. Your high level of attention to detail and accuracy, excellent analytical and research skills, and ability to prepare quality, succinct reports will make you a great addition to our team.

You will ideally hold a relevant degree and CA, CPA, CISA or equivalent membership status. A qualification as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) would be highly regarded also.
