CONTRACT EXECUTIVE OFFICER—STRATEGIC IMPLEMENTATION ROLE 
Roadmarking Industry Association of Australia (RIAA) 
The RIAA, the nation’s peak industry body for roadmarking, seeks an experienced and dynamic contractor to act as Executive Officer. Reporting directly to the Board, this pivotal position will drive the implementation and delivery of the RIAA’s Strategic Plan, ensuring sustainable industry growth, advocacy excellence, and operational best practice. 
Responsibilities 
- Advocacy, Influence & Industry Representation: Build RIAA brand recognition and lead high-impact advocacy with national safety, government, and standards bodies. Represent RIAA interests on legislative, regulatory, compliance and procurement reforms critical to the industry’s future. 
- Workforce Development & Capability: Facilitate national skills initiatives, supporting the future workforce through certification frameworks, diversity promotion, and career pathway programs in partnership with industry and education stakeholders. 
- Quality, Standards & Compliance: Lead proactive engagement with authorities to align specifications and champion a single product approval process. Advocate for best-practice in standards, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
- Innovation & Sustainability: Drive industry advancement through innovative product trials, grant funding opportunities, and research partnerships. Host Innovation Forums and foster acceptance of world-leading practices in product approvals and sustainability. 
- Member Services & Engagement: Enhance digital engagement and grow member value through expanded events, collaborative online forums, and new revenue streams. Support members with business and employee assistance and develop a national industry directory. 
- Governance & Operational Excellence: Embrace new technologies to streamline administration, ensuring efficient, transparent association operations and compliance with all governance requirements. Flexibly adapt to Board-set priorities. 
Candidate Profile 
- Proven record of association or industry leadership with a focus on advocacy, strategic delivery, and change management. 
- Outstanding relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills. 
- Experience working with government, regulators, industry partners, and member-based organizations. 
- Passion for workforce development, standards, and innovation in a technical environment. 
- Contracting background or knowledge of infrastructure, transport or road-related sectors highly regarded. 
Term 
Contract engagement. Part time/full-time negotiable. Must be able to travel nationally for stakeholder engagement and events.
