Job Overview
We are a busy boutique law firm in the city that practices family law and are seeking a trainee graduate to conduct their Practical Legal Training (PLT) with us. Most of our solicitors began their careers with us through this pathway, learning the ropes through on‐job training, a buddy system, and mentorship from our partners.
Key Responsibilities
During the 6‐9‐month PLT you will:
* Commit to training 2–3 days per week and complete the full PLT program.
* Learn from experienced solicitors and partners while performing relevant tasks.
* Adapt to a small, cohesive team and demonstrate flexibility.
Qualifications
* Full rights to work in Australia without restriction.
* Provide a police clearance upon request.
* Provide referees upon request.
* Demonstrate prior interest in, and/or have studied family law at university or college.
Opportunities
Whilst this role is a voluntary clerkship, performance will be reviewed over the 9‐month period to determine eligibility for employment upon admission. If you display a good attitude and are a quick‐study you may be offered a junior legal position with us. We can accommodate part‐time work from other fields by allowing you to schedule PLT days that do not conflict with your existing commitments, which will be viewed favorably as evidence of strong time‐management and organisational skills.
