We have a current opportunity for a DevSecOps Developer, on a contract basis within the Defence sector. The role is Remote. The contract is for an initial 4 month period, with a 12 month extension option.

The DevSecOps Developer will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:
Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based applications leveraging AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
Build and optimize front-end solutions using, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
Develop and manage GraphQL APIs, ensuring performance and scalability.
Work with PostgreSQL, including database schema design, queries, and performance tuning.
Ensure high-quality code through best practices, code reviews, and automated testing.
Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes with security integration.
Ensure security best practices are integrated into the development lifecycle, including secure coding, vulnerability scanning, and compliance.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
Monitor and improve system performance, security, and reliability using AWS-native and third-party tools.
Collaborate with security teams to address vulnerabilities, compliance requirements, and cloud security controls.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud infrastructure, application architecture, and security configurations.
Minimum mandatory requirements:
AGSVA Security Clearance.
Defence experience.
Strong experience with AWS cloud services, including security best practices and automation.
Hands-on development expertise in, JavaScript, TypeScript, and GraphQL.
Proficiency in PostgreSQL, including writing complex queries and performance optimization.
Solid understanding of DevSecOps principles, secure coding, and threat modeling.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab Actions, AWS CodePipeline, etc.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS/EKS).
Excellent documentation skills for technical processes and architecture.
Knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, OWASP, CIS benchmarks).
