About The Role
Cleansing and Resource Recovery is seeking a driven individual to lead the operational activities of one of our well-respected Cleansing teams within the City of Sydney.
The important role of Team Leader is responsible for managing and organising the workplace, resolving conflict and planning tasks.
The purpose of the position is to supervise a team of operational employees to ensure street & public domain cleansing and waste collection services and service delivery to events is delivered in accordance with the defined service levels by assigning employee and plant resources effectively and efficiently. You will also support the Manager, Project & Events with major events, cleansing scope delivery and labour hire resourcing and allocation.
We are seeking a self-motivated, dedicated people-person with great communication skills, who is a champion for safety and takes pride in their work.

A positive health and safety focus is key to the role of Team Leader, with responsibilities to:
* Interpret, understand, and apply WHS legislation within the workplace
* Lead by example and demonstrate positive safety leadership
* Lead consultation on WHS matters, communicate with all staff and their representatives on WHS issues
* Identify, assess, control and monitor hazards within their area of responsibility
* Participate in workplace accident and incident investigations
* Ensure all plant, equipment and structures are properly maintained
This role has the option of a team-based flexible working arrangement – known as a 9-day fortnight.
