Responsibilities
* Deliver and coordinate plumbing maintenance, repairs, and minor works across the precinct.
* Act as the main client contact, managing requests and ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
* Supervise contractors, source quotes, and oversee works to meet safety, quality, budget and timeframes.
* Inspect and monitor building assets and systems, log jobs, and maintain accurate records.
* Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and UQ safety requirements.
* Support continuous improvement and contribute to a safe, efficient facilities environment.

About You
We're looking for an experienced Plumber with strong technical expertise in building maintenance across large and complex facilities. A Gas Fitter's License would be looked on favourably but is not essential.
* Trade qualifications in plumbing and must have QBCC plumbing license with extensive maintenance experience.
* Experience in roof and drainage systems
* Current open Queensland Driver's Licence
* Proven knowledge of building services
* Basic computer skills
* Be available to take part in an after-hours on call roster
* Strong understanding of WHS and environmental legislation, codes and standards
* Problem-solving skills with the ability to manage diverse maintenance issues effectively
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* A willingness to learn Building services including building reticulated water, Mechanical HVAC plant, minor lighting and power, etc.
* A desire to grow and learn project and contract management within building maintenance services
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong desire for professional growth and a commitment to learning a wide range of building and maintenance systems. Adaptability and a proactive approach to acquiring new technical knowledge are essential. You will be supported by a dedicated team of experienced tradespeople and facility managers.
The successful candidate may be required to complete pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, criminal check and education check. You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment.
