Come work where you will matter!Hours: 38 Hours, Days, Evenings, Weekends, HolidaysResponsibilitiesOrganizational ExpectationsBehavioral Attributes: The following behavioral attributes are required: achievement motivation, concern for order, flexibility, initiative, self-confidence, customer service orientation, interpersonal effectiveness, teamwork, analytical thinking, and information seeking.Essential FunctionsIdentify the correct patient to receive radiology or laboratory service, verify physician orders, and post orders to ensure appropriate follow-up.Systematically gather and evaluate relevant information and data from patient interviews and/or patient information services.Identify variations from expected findings and/or test values.Take appropriate action when variations are identified.Plan for and provide patient teachings.Identify situations when it is appropriate to involve the family, significant other, and/or friends in patient education.Prioritize requests based on the nature of the request and the condition and/or situation of the patients.Assess and reassess the patient’s condition.Coordinate and communicate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.Perform order entry for radiographic tests using the Meditech Computer System.Access the list of ordered exams, identify special instructions, and ensure safe and thorough test processing.Order all radiographic tests via the Meditech System to ensure correct billing and accurate results.Organize and maintain all radiographic files, including film storage jackets, patient file cards, and film release records.Maintain logs and files related to HUC Laboratory and Radiology Services for compliance, organization, and easy retrieval.Conduct warm-up procedures and safety checks on radiographic equipment, reporting concerns to the manager.Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations according to policies outlined in the Heywood Medical Group Manual.Operate the Heywood Urgent Care Radiology Services, ensuring high-quality films and equipment maintenance.Maintain adequate supplies for the Laboratory and Radiology Departments.Follow image criteria to ensure proper patient positioning and comprehensive views.Operate diagnostic equipment to ensure proper image quality.Maintain a safe environment, ensuring objects harmful to children are inaccessible.Ensure a safe environment to prevent patient falls, slips, or trips, and make assistive devices available as needed.Operate the Heywood Urgent Care Laboratory Services, ensuring correct lab testing and positive patient experiences.Review discordance reports daily and follow protocols for follow-up.Coordinate workflow in Practice Radiology and perform all diagnostic image procedures in remote and other assigned locations.Statement of Other Duties: This document describes major duties and responsibilities but is not exhaustive. Employees may be asked to perform additional job-related duties beyond those explicitly described.QualificationsJob RequirementsMinimum EducationGraduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology with an A.S. in Radiology Technology or equivalent preferred.Minimum Work ExperiencePrevious experience performing Radiology procedures or equivalent experience as determined by the department manager.Required Licenses(Massachusetts, United States) Radiologic Technologists and Technicians: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) and MDPH Radiology License are required.Required SkillsQuality conscious; interpersonal skills; flexible in achieving multiple tasks; dependable; organized; independent judgment; high technical skills.CPR certified.Functional DemandsPhysical Requirements: Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Frequently reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction), and handles (seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or working with hands). Occasionally stoops (bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist), crouches (bending the body downward and forward by bending legs and spine), and feels (perceiving attributes of items such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by means of fingertips).
