Job description

* A hands-on, autonomous role supporting apprentices and trainees into meaningful, long-term employment
* The chance to work closely with community, employers and training partners to create real outcomes
* A purpose-driven organisation where your work has visible impact, not just administrative output
The Organisation

The Tiwi Islands Training and Employment Board (TITEB) is a Tiwi governed, not for profit organisation established to deliver employment, training and education outcomes for the Tiwi Islands communities. Since its establishment by the Tiwi Land Council, TITEB has played a central role in building local workforce capacity and creating pathways into meaningful and sustainable employment.

TITEB is the primary provider of employment, training and allied education services across the Tiwi Islands, delivering a range of integrated programs including Group Training (GTO), Registered Training (RTO), Remote Australia Employment Services (RAES) and Tiwi School Support Services (TSSS). These programs are designed to support individuals at all stages of their journey, from school engagement through to vocational training, apprenticeships and long-term employment.

With a strong focus on community led outcomes, TITEB works closely with local employers, training organisations and community stakeholders to ensure services are culturally appropriate, practical and aligned to the needs of the Tiwi people. The organisation is committed to increasing participation, improving completion rates, and supporting the development of a skilled and sustainable local workforce.

TITEB offers a unique working environment where staff have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful outcomes, build strong relationships within community and play a direct role in supporting long term social and economic development across the Tiwi Islands.

The Opportunity

As the GTO Coordinator, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day coordination of apprenticeships and traineeships for Tiwi community members.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with apprentices, host employers, schools and RTO partners to ensure participants are supported from onboarding through to completion. You’ll build strong employer relationships, manage compliance requirements and help create culturally safe, sustainable employment pathways.

Reporting to the CEO and supported by established systems and a Field Officer, this role offers genuine autonomy, strong leadership support and the opportunity to make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

Key responsibilities include:
* Coordinating day-to-day GTO operations
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with host employers
* Supporting apprentices and trainees through onboarding, mentoring and progress monitoring
* Conducting regular workplace visits to monitor progress and address issues early
* Coordinating on-the-job and off-the-job training with RTO partners
* Managing contracts of training and apprenticeship administration
* Ensuring compliance with GTO standards, quality systems and reporting requirements
* Assisting with recruitment, selection and placement of apprentices and trainees
* Preparing timely and accurate reports for internal and external stakeholders
About You

You’ll bring:

* Experience working in a GTO, apprenticeship, traineeship or workforce development environment
* A solid understanding of Australian Apprenticeship administration and competency-based training systems
* Confidence managing multiple stakeholders, priorities and compliance requirements
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with employers, apprentices and community partners
* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people or in community-based environments
* Strong administrative, reporting and organisational capability
Qualifications
* Current NT Driver’s Licence (or ability to obtain)
* Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and NT Ochre Card
* Desirable: Trade qualification and/or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)
Your Reward

In return, you’ll enjoy:

* Competitive salary aligned to experience
* Full-Time (35 hours per week)
* Access to salary packaging benefits
* A values-driven workplace with strong executive support
* Autonomy, trust and flexibility in how you deliver outcomes
* The opportunity to do work that genuinely matters to community
