If you're passionate about shaping the visual character and built form of our cities and communities, read on!This role involves delivering high-quality, objective, technical analysis, built form massing solutions, and assessing visual impacts across cities, landscapes, and unique visual contexts. The position is based in Sydney but involves working on a range of national urban, rural, and renewable energy projects.This is a great opportunity to establish yourself in this specialized and growing field.Responsibilities:As a Visual Assessment Specialist, you will handle fieldwork, project management, graphics, built form visual impact mitigation, and assessment of visual effects for various developments, including:Infill housing, towers, renewable energy projects like solar farms, and virtual visual aids such as certifiable 3D photomontages for large-scale projects. This includes fieldwork, photography, data compilation, and preparing client-ready visual aids.You will need to:Understand State and Local Government planning frameworksHave experience in Visual Impact Assessment (VIA) and Landscape VIAApply VIA methodologies to produce high-quality analysis and reportsBe aware of Land and Environment Court of NSW planning principles relevant to visual impactsMeet project deadlines supporting the national design teamAbout you:You hold a tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Landscape Architecture, or Urban Design, and are proficient with Adobe SuiteKnowledge of 3D modelling (Studio Max, Revit, SketchUp), GIS, and photomontage preparation is highly desirableAwareness of the Land and Environment Court of NSW photomontage policies is advantageousWhy Urbis?We foster an inclusive, flexible, and diverse work environment.
