About The Role
At TasNetworks, we're powering a bright future for Tasmania with a focus on safety, reliability, and sustainability. We're looking for an experienced operational leader with strong commercial acumen to drive contract performance and delivery across our state-wide Program of Works.
The role of
Leader Contract Performance and Delivery
leads a Statewide team responsible for delivering TasNetworks' Transmission and Distribution Program of Works — including maintenance, projects, customer-initiated works and vegetation management through our external delivery partners, with an annual portfolio of up to $70 million.
You'll bring together your operational expertise and commercial mindset to ensure the program is delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. This includes making clear decisions on resourcing, workflow, and delivery, balancing internal capability with outsourced work to achieve the optimal outcomes. You will manage external service providers to meet program, cost, and quality targets, oversee contract performance to drive value, collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, and monitor performance and risks while fostering strong, accountable relationships.
About You
You're a hands-on leader who understands how to get things done safely and efficiently. With a strong operational background and sharp commercial instincts, you know how to balance delivery pressures with smart decision-making — negotiating value, managing performance, and keeping people and programs on track. You will also offer:
* Tertiary qualifications in engineering, business, commerce or equivalent experience.
* Extensive experience in contract and commercial management in large, complex environments, ideally utilities or infrastructure.
* Operational insight into how large programs are delivered, with the ability to balance technical, commercial and delivery drivers.
* Strong negotiation and influencing skills — confident in driving value and managing challenging discussions with respect and professionalism.
* Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
* Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams through change.
This is a great opportunity to be part of a newly shaped team where your leadership can make a real impact, combining operational know-how with commercial smarts to deliver tangible results for Tasmania's energy future.
