Whitfield State School is seeking an experienced and motivated Social Worker to join our dynamic student wellbeing team. This is a temporary part-time position at 0.60 FTE, totaling 43.25 hours per fortnight, until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise specified.

About The Role This position is classified as PO2, with progression to PO3 upon meeting specific criteria, as outlined in the Role Description. The salary shown reflects the PO2 to PO3 classification range.
The Social Worker at Whitfield State School will undertake the following functions:
Case Management Coordination and Leadership: Lead and support a comprehensive, levelled, solution-focused case management process for students with behavioural, emotional, social, learning, and attendance needs. Collaborate with the Deputy Principal and support families, staff capability development, and build partnerships with external agencies. Education and School Culture Leadership: Facilitate education programs for parents and staff, and contribute to the school's values-based culture, fostering resilience and problem-solving skills. Support Provision Leadership: Design, deliver, and review student and family support programs, and coach staff involved in these services, focusing on social skills development. Social Work Practice: Provide services within a social work framework, applying theory, assessment, and intervention techniques aligned with social work principles. Service Improvement: Collect and analyze data to review and enhance social work services. Contextual Understanding: Recognize social and political factors affecting practice and their impact on learning environments. Strategic Alignment: Link practice to Education Queensland's strategic plan, fostering continuous improvement. Critical Incident Response: Support the school community during emergencies and critical incidents. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with departmental policies. Governance and Ethics: Ensure social work practices align with AASW ethics and standards. Please refer to the attached role description for mandatory requirements.
