Primary Objectives Operates and coordinates treatment processes, in a safe and efficient way and within prescribed guidelines, including plant monitoring, investigation, fault reporting, data collection and some laboratory analysis of samples.
**Wastewater Operations**
- Operates treatment processes at site within prescribed guidelines to achieve treated effluent/biosolids/odour emissions stated outcomes and that comply with regulatory requirements.
- Proactively liaises with other Operators to coordinate operation of Plant processes to achieve optimal Plant outcomes.
- Conducts sampling (and in some instances, analysis) of various process streams in liaison with the laboratory's Senior Technical Officer.
- Monitors daily processes and plant performance statistics and investigates anomalies.
- Assists the Operations Supervisor in the compilation, issue and supervision of Work Permits, JSAs and CSE documentation and entry of OSH data into Corporate information systems.
- Assists the Operations Supervisor in the entry of operational data into the Corporate information systems, including updating of Operations Manuals and Work Instructions.
- Day to day liaison and coordination with maintenance contractors in relation to the Plant(s) asset maintenance and performance.
- Undertakes rostered after hours/weekend callout ('standby') and unplanned and planned overtime as required to ensure maintenance of levels of service. This includes remote computer monitoring and interrogation if required.
- Develops and maintains competency in the operation of wastewater treatment systems, and mentors and trains Operators in wastewater treatment operations, as required.
- Supervises Process Operators, if required, to achieve stated outcomes of the assigned processes.
- Contributes to the development of competency based Work Instructions that support our Business Management System.
- Responds to incidents on-site in accordance with Corporate Incident Management guidelines
**Projects**
- Contributes to ad hoc projects supporting the operation and optimisation of the wastewater treatment processes
- Participates in asset creation and commissioning activities
**Safety, Health and Environment**
- Performs all duties in relation to the Water Corporation Occupational Health and Safety policies, procedures and programs and relevant site based Work Instructions to achieve and maintain occupational health and safety standards, relevant to the Western Australian Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984
- Operates processes to the requirements of the Corporate Environmental Management System.
- Complies with Dangerous Goods Management statutory and Corporate requirements

**Experience/Qualifications**
- National Water Industry Training Package (NWITP) Certificate II- Water Industry Operations
- Considerable operational or maintenance experience in a complex processing environment
- Relevant experience with SCX6, Citect or equivalent distributary control system
- Relevant experience in wastewater treatment operations and maintenance or other process industry
- Awareness and understanding of relevant licence conditions and regulatory requirements as set by the Department of Environment (DoE) and Department of Health (DoH).
- Significant progress towards a National Water Industry Training Package (NWITP) Certificate III- Water Industry Operations
- Knowledge of Wastewater laboratory processes
- Gas testing accreditation
- Experience in the development of Work Instructions and Job Safety Analyses
- Senior first aid certificate
- 'MR' class licence
