Job Description:
The position involves working across a 24-hour roster, which may include day, evening, weekend sleepover and overnight stand-up shifts. The role requires participation in the daily operation of the unit, including responding to the emotional and functional needs of young people, developing their personal skills, administrative tasks, and household duties.
About the Role:
MacKillop's Out of Home Care programs provide residential care, home based care, lead tenant and case management support for young people with high and complex needs. Our Residential Services offer accommodation and support to children and young people referred through the Child Protection system.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Respond to the emotional and functional needs of young people
2. Develop personal skills and independence in young people
3. Complete administrative tasks and maintain accurate records
4. Participate in household duties and contribute to a safe living environment
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care) or other relevant tertiary qualifications
* Genuine interest in young people and their well-being
* Empathy and ability to demonstrate non-judgmental understanding
* Highly developed capacity for emotional self-regulation

* Hourly rate of $34.46-$40.05 (dependent on qualification and experience)
