About the Role
TNM Painting Mates is seeking a full-time Painter to join our team. This is a permanent position due to ongoing demand. The successful applicant will carry out a range of residential and commercial painting tasks.
Key Responsibilities
* Protect areas by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and drop sheets prior to commencing work.
* Prepare internal and external surfaces by removing old coatings, repairing defects, filling cracks, and smoothing or sealing surfaces as required.
* Performing minor and major repairs and patching on walls and surfaces as needed.
* Mix paints and coatings to specified colors and finishes in accordance with job requirements.
* Apply paints, varnishes, stains, and protective finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment to achieve a high-quality result.
* Install wallpaper and decorative wall coverings, ensuring accurate pattern alignment and clean edge finishing.
* Clean, store, and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in line with workplace health and safety standards
* Record time, materials, and job details accurately in the company's job management system.
Skills & Experience
* Certificate III in Painting & Decorating or at least 1 year of full-time relevant experience, including Australian work experience
* Experience as a painter in both residential and commercial environments.
* Demonstrated experience with advanced spray-painting systems.
* Proven color-matching competency, including custom pigment mixing and achieving non-standard finishes.
* Documented experience working on heritage or restoration surfaces, including safe removal of aged paint layers and delicate timber repair
* Ability to interpret detailed work specifications and finish schedules, and complete tasks without direct supervision.
* Experience working across multi-trade job sites, coordinating with other contractors under time-critical conditions.
* Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple project locations.
* Ability to Train, mentor and provide professional support to apprentices at all year levels
* Knowledge of Australian WHS practices or willingness to complete recognized WHS training immediately upon commencement
* Knowledge of maintenance of painting tools and equipment.
* Ability to Coordinate with our friendly office team on scheduling and communicating clearly with clients and teammates

* Being Fluent in English and tech-savvy to manage job details digitally
