We're seeking an experienced Business Analyst Manager to lead, mentor and elevate our Business Analysis capability across the firm. This is a senior, dual‐purpose role that combines people leadership with hands‐on delivery—bridging business strategy and technical execution.
Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Delivery, you'll ensure that all analytical outputs are robust, value‐driven and implementation‐ready, enabling Project Managers, QA and delivery teams to execute with confidence. You'll also play a critical role in shaping standards, improving quality, and embedding consistent ways of working across a complex portfolio.
This is an ideal role for a seasoned BA leader who enjoys influence, coaching others, and staying close to complex, high‐impact work.
What you'll be doingProfessional leadership & people management
* Lead and line‐manage a team of Business Analysts, including recruitment, onboarding and performance management
* Build capability across the BA team, strengthening analytical, technical and stakeholder engagement skills
* Establish and enforce quality standards, including a clear "Definition of Ready" for all BA artefacts
* Standardise and maintain BA tools, templates and approaches to ensure consistency across the firm
* Partner with portfolio leadership to allocate BA resources based on capability and business priorities
High‐impact project delivery
* Act as a lead practitioner on the firm's most complex initiatives, setting the benchmark for best practice
* Ensure strong alignment between Business Analysts and Project Managers, preventing siloed delivery
* Facilitate collaborative requirement validation sessions to ensure requirements are understood, validated and value‐driven before build
* Review and quality‐assure BA outputs to ensure they are technically and operationally ready for delivery and testing
Testing & quality governance (approx. 20%)
* Act as the final quality gate for the portfolio, ensuring solutions do not progress without signed‐off testing outcomes
* Define and maintain testing and quality standards across manual and automated testing approaches
* Provide direct leadership and guidance to the QA Tester, ensuring alignment between requirements and test coverage
* Support UAT planning and execution that balances business availability with rigorous validation
* Lead defect triage for complex issues and provide Go / No‐Go recommendations based on risk
Essential criteria
* Extensive experience in Business Analysis and project delivery, with 3‐5+ years in a leadership or management role
* Proven people leadership capability, including mentoring, performance management and capability uplift
* Strong experience delivering complex initiatives, bridging business needs and technical execution
* Deep understanding of business analysis frameworks, such as IIBA / BABOK
* Confidence working across Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid environments, applying the right approach based on risk
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
* Strong analytical, problem‐solving and documentation skills, with high attention to detail
* Comfort working with project and delivery tools, such as Smartsheet or similar platforms
