**Planner Opportunity in NSW Government Agency**
We are seeking an experienced Planner to join our Assessment Team in Parramatta. This is a 12-month contract with flexible working arrangements.
As a Planner, you will provide expert advice on planning matters and guide projects from inception to approval. Key responsibilities include preparing Statements of Environmental Effects (SEEs) and Review of Environmental Factors (REFs), attending internal and external meetings, and managing planning approvals under Part 4 and Part 5 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with external stakeholders, including other government agencies, to achieve project milestones and deliverables. They will also build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships to support project delivery.
Key Accountabilities
* Provide accurate and timely planning advice to internal and external stakeholders.
* Prepare and review planning assessment reports to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
* Manage planning approvals and coordinate consultants as required.
* Identify and mitigate planning risks and environmental impacts.
Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in urban/regional planning or a related discipline are essential. Previous experience in Local or State Government is also highly desirable. Strong communication skills and a background in residential development assessment are key requirements for this role.
