A range of Guidance Officer relieving opportunities may become available across the Darling Downs South West (DDSW) Region during 2026.
The region is located in the south-western corner of Queensland and supports schools across a broad geographic area, from the Lockyer Valley through to Eromanga.
Suitably qualified applicants are invited to express their interest in short-term relieving positions to support schools and students across the region. These opportunities provide valuable experience working in diverse school communities while contributing to student wellbeing, guidance, and support services.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

Temporary Relieving Applicant Pool – Guidance Officer
This continuous applicant pool is open to candidates that meet the mandatory requirements of the Guidance Officer role as detailed in the attached role description. Engagements from this applicant pool for vacancies up to 6 months in duration that may occur across the Darling Downs South West Region. Duration of vacancies are according to operational needs of schools.
Applications will be reviewed and considered throughout 2026, if and when short term temporary vacancies arise. It is recommended that all applicants discuss with their current supervisor support for the application and capacity to release. Approval for release from your substantive position will be required before any offer of a relieving opportunity is made. The region may also elect to progress a separate EOI for individual positions when considered appropriate. Due to the geographical diversity of DDSW, candidates are encouraged to research schools prior to applying and indicate location preference to the online questionnaire.
