KRSP is seeking expressions of interest from qualified Training Officers to deliver Certificate II level qualifications and related competencies to trainees in remote communities in some of the most unique and inspiring locations in Australia – the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Who are KRSP Kimberley Regional Service Providers (KRSP) provides a range of quality services including maintenance, repair and capital works to utility services including power, water and wastewater essential service infrastructure along with municipal/local government style services that improve the quality of life for Indigenous people living in the remote areas of the Kimberley Region in Western Australia. With a head office and workshop in Broome and regional Kimberley including Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra, KRSP have a reputation for technical innovation, reliability, quality of workmanship and professional services. About the role KRSP are seeking 2 experienced Training Officers to assist in the design, implementation and evaluation of our Remote Area Services (RAS) Utility Worker training program. We anticipate this program to launch in June 2025. The program is modelled on the combined delivery of Certificate II in Remote Area Essential Services and Certificate II in Rural Operations qualifications to trainees during their ongoing employment with KRSP in remote communities across the Kimberely. The Training Officer role requires frequent travel to, and accommodation in, Communities across the Fitzroy Valley and East Kimberley regions for the face to face delivery of training. Key responsibilities of the role: Develop and deliver training in Certificate II in Remote Area Essential Services, Certificate II in Rural Operations, and related verifications of competency. Provide culturally appropriate and supportive training and mentoring tailored to the needs of Indigenous trainees Work collaboratively with community organisations, other KRSP teams and business units Liaise with RTO Assessors to effectively manage the assessment of trainees’ progress toward qualifications Ensure compliance with ASQA and RTO standards Location These are permanent, residential roles based in Broome, Kununurra, or in provided housing at our Camballin Depot. The Camballin Depot accommodation is suitable for a couple or flat share and is located 14 minutes away from the Looma townsite. Kimberley residents are encouraged to apply. What you will need An ability to demonstrate a high work ethic and integrity together with a positive mindset. Essential criteria: Ability to be self-sufficient, live and work in remote areas Ability to confidentially drive in remote areas and on unsealed roads Ability to work independently and as part of a team Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records Cultural sensitivity and a respectful approach to working with Indigenous people Current C class driver’s licence and a good driving history Demonstrated experience delivering training in remote or cross-cultural settings Experience in adult learning principles and training design, including Indigenous learning styles and techniques Relevant vocational qualifications and industry experience TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent) Unrestricted working rights in Australia Desirable criteria: Demonstrated ability to communicate with the Indigenous people of the Kimberley Previous work experience in the Kimberley or other remote Indigenous communities Recruitment agencies are respectfully requested not to submit applications for this role.
