Exciting opportunities exist for dynamic and highly motivated Scrub/Scout and Anaesthetics Registered Nurses with experience in Orthopaedics to join high-performing Operating Theatre Teams at a private hospital in Adelaide. Multiple permanent full-time and part-time positions are available. Currently, visa sponsorship is not available, however, relocation assistance is offered to qualified candidates within Australia.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Registered Nurse in Perioperative Services, you will be responsible for providing specialised patient care throughout the surgical process while upholding our hospital's values of exceptional care, safety, and teamwork.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Delivering high-standard clinical care in accordance with ACORN Standards and NSQHS Standards;
* Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and care planning;
* Providing direct nursing care and reviewing patient care during and after shifts;
* Maintaining accurate, legible documentation per organisational policies;
* Ensuring proper care and maintenance of specialised surgical equipment;
* Serving as preceptor for new staff when required;
* Sharing professional knowledge with less experienced team members;
* Addressing performance or compliance issues professionally;
* Complying with all hospital policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct;
* Adhering to infection prevention protocols including hand hygiene and aseptic techniques;
* Maintaining professional theater attire and presentation standards;
* Identifying personal learning needs and attending mandatory training.
REQUIREMENTS
* Current nursing registration with AHPRA;
* Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC);
* Demonstrated expertise in perioperative nursing practice;
* Comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures, methods, and equipment;
* Strong understanding of pain management methods and medications;
* Proven ability to work under pressure in demanding situations;
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail;
* Advanced assessment abilities and a critical thinking mindset;
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills;
* Ability to engage professionally with multidisciplinary teams;
* Willingness to participate in the on-call roster.
