Senior IT Support Officer | 6-Month Contract | Based in Broken Hill | Possible Permanent Opportunities

A leading organisation operating across multiple sites is seeking a Senior IT Officer to join its high-performing technology team. Your new role
This is a key role providing end-to-end IT support across a busy operational site. You'll work closely with the IT Manager and a small team to ensure seamless IT service delivery, covering desktop support, network administration, and cloud infrastructure. The role is available either as a residential position in Broken Hill (with accommodation and utilities provided) or as a FIFO arrangement from Adelaide (Monday to Friday).
Key responsibilities include:
* Provide third-level technical support and lead incident resolution
* Manage and optimise network and server infrastructure (on-premise and cloud)
* Lead IT security initiatives, including threat monitoring and compliance
* Deliver major IT projects including upgrades and new technology rollouts
* Mentor junior IT staff and liaise with internal stakeholders and vendors
* Conduct site visits to ensure robust infrastructure and support delivery
* Implement backup, recovery, and proactive maintenance strategies
What you'll need to succeed
* Bachelor's degree in IT or related discipline
* Minimum 8 years' experience in IT support, systems administration or network management
* Strong hands-on experience with Azure, scripting (Python, PowerShell), and ITIL/DevOps principles
* Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and deliver outcomes
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Willingness to travel regularly across domestic and international sites
