**The Role**
Due to an internal secondment, we have an opportunity for an experienced Category Manager to join the Canon team on a maximum term contract basis. In this varied role you'll be responsible for all aspects of the procurement process (end to end Procurement) within our Strategic Procurement function. You will play a key role in ensuring our suppliers deliver economies of scale in line with business objectives and sustainable and ethical goods and services aligned to our corporate values.
More specifically, this will involve:
- **Contract Management** including Initiating, preparing, prioritising, defining, implementing, maintaining, and improving Category Strategies on an on-going basis.
- Managing the vendor to the responsibilities outlined in the contract and statement of work. Authoring contract documents, including service level exhibits, statements of work. Managing the vendor to the contract.
- **Financial and Performance management** including understand the financial rationale for decisions and extrapolating internal and vendor costs to develop the analysis.
- Measuring vendor performance including the quality and timeliness of delivery, as well as understanding core operations management variables and calculations to ensure the vendor is effectively delivering services.
- **Strategic and Innovation management** including understand the interrelationship of processes, technologies, and people create results and create mutually beneficial opportunities with the Strategic Lead for Canon and the vendor using key insights.
- **Project management** Act as the procurement lead in market engagement activities through quality management, project management, market analysis, competitive forces and external factors, effective communication, service level measurement, drive continuous improvement initiatives whilst managing change effectively.
