The Rural Financial Counselling Service Northern NSW (RFCSNR) is a not-for-profit organisation supporting farmers, fishers and small rural related businesses to navigate financial challenges, build financial capability, and make informed decisions during periods of change, uncertainty and recovery.
The Role
We are seeking a Rural Financial Counsellor to join our team in a full-time, on-site role based in Macksville, NSW.
You will provide confidential, client-centred rural financial counselling, supporting primary producers to understand their financial position, explore practical options, and plan for both immediate and long-term needs. The role includes support during financial hardship and change, including Farm Debt Mediation, and working alongside a network of relevant support services to achieve positive client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver holistic rural financial counselling services
* Analyse financial situations and assist clients to develop practical plans
* Support clients through financial challenge, recovery and change
* Prepare and present options for financial and agribusiness management
* Liaise with external agencies and support services
* Maintain confidentiality and strong client relationships
About You
* Hold, or are willing to obtain, the required qualifications and accreditation (Diploma of Financial Counselling – Rural)
* Experience in financial counselling and sound knowledge of financial principles
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* High level of professionalism and discretion with sensitive information
* Experience or understanding of rural or agricultural financial environments (highly regarded)
