About the Role
We’re looking for an Android Engineer to join the Product Solutions team. You’ll be working on high-profile Android and Android TV apps, used daily by millions of Australians. In this role, you’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver seamless digital experiences, while also contributing to engineering best practices and modern development approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain Android and Android TV apps in Kotlin
- Work in an Agile, cross-functional team, delivering high-quality features
- Collaborate with Product and Design teams to craft intuitive user experiences
- Contribute to engineering standards, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and automate workflows
- Solve complex technical challenges with modern development techniques
Skills & Experience
- 1+ years’ experience developing native Android apps with Kotlin
- Strong grasp of object-oriented and architectural design principles
- Experience consuming and integrating REST APIs
- Knowledge of Jetpack Compose and/or Android Views (MVVM)
- Familiarity with the Android ecosystem (including Google Play release processes)
- Proficiency with unit and UI testing frameworks
- Understanding of build tools and a DevOps mindset
- Strong attention to detail for pixel-perfect UI and modern UX principles
- Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and willingness to share knowledge
Nice to Have
- Media player or video streaming expertise
- Exposure to AWS or backend stacks
- Experience with analytics and monitoring in production apps
- Familiarity with our stack: Kotlin Coroutines, RxJava, Chromecast, Firebase, Azure DevOps, SDK integrations
